Cyanotech Corp., Kailua-Kona, has obtained official regulatory approval (substantial equivalence) for its BioAstin natural astaxanthin as a novel food in the European Union (EU). According to the company, this allows the importation of BioAstin into all of the 27 member countries and gives Cyanotech unlimited access to a market with 487 million people.
